Have you ever heard this saying? “I complained I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” This saying can help us put things into perspective. As bad as things may seem in your life, they could always be worse. In other words, there is always something or someone to be grateful for.
You may not feel that way right now. Some are still chaffing at the restrictions or requests (depends on your perspective) of business’s making you wear a mask, Especially if you have already had the vaccine. (This came into perspective for me when I learned I couldn’t leave my neighborhood, or swim in a community pool, among other things. It made the previous requirements seem like nothing.) Some may feel they do not have enough money. Still others think they need a new car as they are tired of the old one. The list goes on.
THE LORD calls us to go higher….to do something that is the opposite of the tendencies of our fallen nature…and be GRATEFUL! Often we find what we are looking for. I challenge you to try looking for the GOOD in your current situation.
It just may be, if you choose to be grateful and give thanks then your situation…your outlook…and your relationship with GOD and others might just change for the better. I am aware I don’t know all you are going through, but I know THE LORD does and HE is THE ONE who Has asked us “IN EVERYTHING, give Thanks…For THIS is the WILL OF GOD for YOU in CHRIST JESUS.”
Let’s Pray: “FATHER GOD, please help me see the GOOD in this life. Please forgive me for complaining or being ungrateful. I need YOU to help me change my attitude. Thank YOU for not giving up on me! Thank YOU for JESUS suffering and dying in my place. I trust YOU.
In JESUS Name I pray. Amen (So be it!). “
