How many of you have heard about God’s 911?  God’s 911 can be found in Psalms 91:1.

  91:1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

The words, “He who dwells” according to the Greek has the following meaning:

yashab (yaw-shab’); a primitive root; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in   quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:

KJV – (make to) abide (-ing), continue, (cause to, make to) dwell (-ing), easeself, endure,             establish, fail, habitation, haunt, (make to) inhabit (-ant), make to keep [house], lurking, marry (-         ing), (bring again to) place, remain, return, seat, set (-tle), (down-) sit (-down, still, -ting down, –      ting [place] -uate), take, tarry.

To dwell is not running around trying to fix things, wringing our hands in worry, or being frantic!  When you and I decide to dwell in God’s Secret Place we can have the same peace that Daniel had when he was thrown into the lion’s den.  King Darius gave  a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or man besides himself, would be thrown into the lions’ den. (See Daniel chapter 6).

Daniel being a man of God faithfully prayed and gave praises to God three times a day just as he had before the decree.  King Darius loved Daniel, but was duped by his own decree and had to throw Daniel in the lions’ den.  That whole night King Darius could not eat or sleep and as soon as it was dawn, he ran to the lion’s den to see if Daniel had survived the famished, starving lions.  Now for the rest of the story:

Dan 6:20-23 NIV

20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”

21 Daniel answered, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.”

23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Can’t you just see Daniel sitting in the lions’ den using the lion for footstool as he slept peacefully while King Darius tossed and turned and couldn’t sleep a wink in his palace!  Daniel understood what it meant to “dwell in God’s Secret Place”!

Daniel 6:24-28 NIV

24 At the king’s command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

25 Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language throughout the land:

“May you prosper greatly!

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

“For he is the living God

and he endures forever;

his kingdom will not be destroyed,

his dominion will never end.

27 He rescues and he saves;

he performs signs and wonders

in the heavens and on the earth.

He has rescued Daniel

from the power of the lions.”

28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

The Bible tells us that God is the same yesterday, today and forever!  The Bible also tells us that God is no respecter of persons.  That means that God doesn’t love Daniel any more or less than He loves me and you!!!  You can put your total trust in God!!!  All you have to do is make Him your dwelling place.  God is greater than any problem or mountain you or I are facing today!  He can make a way where there seems to be no way!  He can turn your spiritual, physical, mental, and financial life to total health!  Nothing is impossible with God!

If you have never made Jesus Christ your Lord…which is the first part of dwelling in God’s Secret Place, say this prayer out loud and with your lips:

Heavenly Father,

I believe that Jesus Christ is Your only son and that Jesus died on the cross for all of my wrongdoings so I can receive your forgiveness.  I ask you to forgive me of my wrongdoing.  I believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and I receive total forgiveness.  I confess that when I die, I am going to live in heaven forever.  Amen

Make the decision right now to use God’s 911.  Call upon God now and say out loud with your lips, “God I choose right now to make you my dwelling place.  I say what Psalms 91:2 says, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God; on You I lean and rely and in You I confidently trust! : )
